The 2010 Reunion in Sicily - Selinunte
Selinunte on the southwestern coast was founded in the 7th century BC and soon became a powerful city.
409 BC Selinunte was destroyed by Carthege and forgotten.
Temple E (490-480 BC) on the eastern hill was dedicated to Hera and partly rebuilt in the 1960s. It's 68 coloumns still support a part of the trabeation. Metopes and fragments from ancient Selinunte are on display in the Archeological museum in Palermo.
